Three sprays of foliage loosely frame a study of birds perching on the central boughs. The more open design--sharply contrasting the typical border--combines with the varied blue tones to create a refreshing effect. A gadroon edge completes the pattern.

While we tend to call all transferware "Staffordshire," Brameld was producing their wares in the Yorkshire area. The works, acquired in 1806 by John Brameld and his son William, became the Rockingham Works in 1826.
