This cachepot form is among the most the most identifiable of Wedgwood shapes--executed in multiple sizes and every color of jasper dip Wedgwood offered in the nineteenth century. This "smallish" example is executed in dark olive green.
The slightly flared jardinere shape always sports a band of tight floral sprigging in the molded band just below the rim, accompanied by a series of floral swags caught up by lion mask fittings. In this example, figures of Apollo and two muses stand beneath each lion mask.
