Wedgwood's ivory body provides the perfect ground for the autumnal tones of this variation of the "Edinburg" pattern. The transfer is executed in chocolate brown with yellow, deep rose and soft blue enamel highlights. On both the demitasse cup and saucer, scenic vignettes are framed Japanese style and set off by florals. The vignette on the saucer even features an overhanging branch of prunus complete with tiny sparrows. Concentric borders trim the saucer including a prominent zig-zag border picked out in yellow enamels, a border treatment used in a number of Wedgwood's aesthetic period patterns.
