The striking feature of Stevenson's blue transfer platter is the graphic blue and white stripe border which extends from the outer edge down into the well of the piece. The vertical stripes are further decorated with stylized floral designs reminiscent of central European folk art. The center is decorated with a single snowflake-like eight-point star set atop intertwining scrolls on an otherwise open ground.

While our references list Thomas Godwin as the potter for "Polish Star," the T.G. found on those pieces is replaced by R.S. & S. on this piece leading to our Ralph Stevenson attribution.
