A vividly enameled version of the Masons Scroll pattern is featured on a form far more Rococo than usual for Mason's. An ovoid shape is nestled on acanthus leaves and further ornamented by scallop shells and elegantly folded side handles.
In the enameled transfer decoration, a large scroll unfurls to reveal a version of the classic Chinoiserie scene known as "Tall Stand". An intricate ground pattern of swirls, carefully executed flowers and occasional reserves with Chinese "trophies" fill out the surface, leaving the molded details on the underplate revealed.
