A tiny green bird, mosquito or friendly lion feature in the three landscape panels of this pattern. Lavish floral and gilt devices divide the panels. Colors are primarilly a black cobalt and brilliant red-orange with pink and green highlights.

Some of you will note that Pattern 1229 is actually a derivative of the earlier Imari Pattern 963. Both fairly sing of Regency splendour and style.
