A cluster of cherries set against a solid dark blue ground provides the center focus for this dark blue transfer pearl ware toy dinner plate.  Typical of the casual way children's pieces were treated by the potters at this time, the design is not quite centered on the blank.  This leads us to believe the pattern was likely taken from a textile pattern rather than derived from a standard tableware pattern.  In this instance, the pattern would have been simply printed on a large sheet and cut to fit the pieces comprising the toy dinner service the piece comes from. 

It is often possible to associate and possibly identify patterns on toy pieces with the standard tableware patterns they are derived from .  In this example, no patterns come to mind which leads us to suspect another soure for the pattern such as a textile design.
