Ridgway, Morley and Wear use a softly scalloped rectangular shape for this brown transfer platter in their "Japan Flowers" pattern.  The center scene focuses on an over-scaled pot of exotic flowers placed in the foreground.  Beyond this promontory, garden terraces recede across a lake to distant oriental-inspired buildings on some far horizon.
The scene is framed by a rococo border of vine, shell and scroll flourishes on a colored vine-pattern ground.  Four reserves, centered on each side of the platter, reveal additional glimpses of fantasy garden pavilions set in a floral paradise.
