The club jug shape may be one of the most graceful of Wedgwood's designs for "useful" wares. Here it is executed in white stoneware with a glaze applied to seal the pure white body. A single strand of "fruiting border," -- grape clusters and leaves -- executed in blue stoneware decorates the neck of the jug. This example also includes the added feature of a separate lid -- which fits down inside the lip, also finished with a string of "fruiting border" and a neat ball finial.
