Rusty orange vines with pink blossoms and cobalt and gilt leaves circle the ivory enameled flange of this platter. An inner order of leaves in green, rust and peach separates the flange from a cobalt and gilt reserve framing the center "trophies" study.

The "trophies" motif was one of the early concepts appropriated from Chinese export by the English potters. In Mason's interpretation, an oriental depiction of ancient sacred symbols loses all meaning becoming simply a decorative arrangement.
