In the "Little Jack Horner" entry from Brownhills' "Nursery Tales" series, little Jack is shown sitting on his hearth, his Christmas pie in one hand. He holds up his thumb with the famous Christmas plum, and says "What a good boy am I." Evidence of childhood Christmas bounty includes a chalk board leaning up against the baseboard and a drum which has been tossed aside. A bit of blue for Jack's necktie and a soft yellow wash enliven the brown transfer.
Brownhills "Nursery Tales" series uses their standard ivory body with brown transfer and enamel highlighting. The series features the ABC's on a field studded with tiny stars. An octagonal reserve in the lower right quadrant, tucked among lush plantlife, frames the nursery rhyme illustration.
