This raised letter ABC plate features a once-familiar scene of the organ grinder executed in blue transfer. In the scene, a little group of three children seem to be enthralled with the figures dancing on top of the organ grinder's box. In the little knot of waifs, an "older sis" holds up baby to see the figures even as she holds tight to her slightly younger sister at her side.

While the maker remains anonymous, the organ grinder ABC plate must have been a favorite. We have see it in a number of transfer colors as well as occasionally with polychrome enamel detailing.
